Producer
PinkNews is the largest LGBTQ+ media publisher in the world. Our mission is to make the world a gayer place, creating the essential place for LGBTQ+ people to connect with one another and with the culture-driven content that matters most to them. We publish up to twenty video stories per day on all social media platforms. The job of the researcher is to support the producers and the rapid creation and delivery of our video news content.
We are looking for a talented and efficient journalist with adobe premiere skills to be part of a very large video team. The job involves having a broad understanding of the social landscape and LGBTQ+ culture, both pop and political. The producer is tasked with delivering a number of video stories per day, optimised for the various platforms PinkNews publishes on.
Our producers are managed by our Senior or Executive Producers and you will have the opportunity to refine your journalistic storytelling, working on a variety of stories, from coverage of major internal and external events in the LGBTQ+ calendar to press screenings and talent interviews. This role will work on shifts across the week and weekends, working a maximum of 1 in 4 weekends.
Salary: £27,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Location: Hybrid working - London office 1-2 days per week
Working Hours: This role will work at 37.5 hour week, to include 1 in 4 weekends and shift work (shift details below).

What you’ll be doing day to day:
Pitch, script and edit at least 1 original story daily to a high standard in PinkNews editorial style
Create headlines, social copy and metadata for posting of stories across all platforms to include but not limited to Snap, Youtube, Meta, TikTok and Twitter
Film high-quality original interviews, remotely and in person with contributors and talent
Generate engaging original junket formats for celebrity content
Create tile & thumbnail imagery for stories
Film and edit video content using Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects
Use AI software to augment and ensure efficiency in video production
Use clips and source material in a legal manner and understand the crediting process
Reversion and optimise all edits for publishing across PN owned and operated channels including Snap, Youtube, Meta, TikTok and Twitter
Cast contributors for documentary episodes
Use performance and analytics to help inform decisions on story pitches
Work with the wider team on an ad hoc basis to cover PinkNews events and other commercial projects
Skills you’ll need:
Journalism degree or relevant experience in a similar role
Journalistic storytelling experience
Media law knowledge
High competency in the full adobe suite including Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop
Experience in video content creation and publishing
High competency in the full adobe suite, primarily premiere, after effects and photoshop
A thorough understanding of editorial, ethical and legal guidelines
Understanding of AI language models and their limitations and opportunities
Experience with native social platform publishing
Have a thorough understanding of user generated and archive content, gathering footage and editing

Hybrid working - for all non-remote employees this means working in a London based office for 2 days per week
Shift patterns:
Currently, we work on the following shift patterns:
Weekday Shifts: Mid (09:00 - 17:30) / Late (12:30 - 21:00). 1 in every 3/4 weeks is a late shift.
Weekend Shift: 10:00-18:30 / 1 in every 4 weekends
