Through creating content and connections that entertain, inform and inspire we empower generations to embrace and shape the future - making the world a gayer place.

Our vision for PinkNews is to create the ESSENTIAL PLACE for LGBTQ+ people to connect with one another and with the culture-driven content that matters most to them.

Our Culture
Company culture refers to our shared values, beliefs and principles.
We want to continue building on the culture that each of our team members bring with them as they walk through the door on their first day.
We prefer the phrase ‘culture add’...not ‘culture fit’
The best people don’t just fit a culture, they add to it!
‘Culture add’ emphasises the potential to bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas that enhance and enrich our existing culture.

PinkNews Glossary
-
Trans & non-binary/Trans+: We use these as umbrella terms, which encompass the wide range of trans identities that exist e.g. genderqueer, genderfluid, agender etc
Same-Sex Marriage: We use either same-sex or equal-marriage, not gay-marriage.
Ally: Someone who isn’t LGBTQ+ but cheers from the sidelines (or jumps into the fray) to support equality and inclusion. Think of it as being the hype person for human rights.
Pronouns: We introduce ourselves using pronouns at the start of all initial external meetings. For simplicity, we recommend adding these to your profiles across social platforms and messaging systems where appropriate. If you ever make a mistake with pronouns, we recommend apologising and then moving on. We have all made mistakes before.
-
PinkNews: We always refer to the company as PinkNews, there is never a space between Pink and News.
Annual Reviews: PinkNews follows an annual performance review cycle. Reviews are carried out in March, at which point PDPs are set for the year. We then have a formal six-month check-in in September, alongside your regular 1:1s with your line manager to ensure your development needs are being met.
LGBTQ+: PinkNews uses LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer) in all internal and external communication relating to the community.
Team Goals: We set and monitor goals as a company every year. Each quarter the SLT set a series of company-wide goals. This system provides clarity and transparency of what each team is focused on across the organisation and aims to ensure each team member recognises the vital contribution they make to the overall success and growth of PinkNews.
